jury duty anticlimax

Finally served my (angsted-about, postponed) jury duty. Turned out the people of Massachusetts didn't want any juries this morning, having decided to plead guilty, settle their lawsuits, have their cases dismissed, or in one case flee from the law, making the problem larger but also clearly someone else's. So I never saw a courtroom. We did get to meet a judge who assured us that we had still done something useful, and indeed, I suppose people would not have been so eager to avoid a jury if there wasn't a potential jury lurking around to avoid.

fic rec: Avengers

I haven't seen the Thor movie or the Captain America movie and as I recall didn't really like most of Iron Man II (I vaguely recall one realllly good sequence of Tony working in his lab, and otherwise meh), but I loved this fic: Tomorrow Belongs To Me. Steve/Tony, novel length, good comic book action and a plot that probably makes more sense than whatever they come up with for the movie.
