the moments I look forward to
Aug. 2nd, 2011 08:50 pmOn Saturday we played our first family game, all three of us (Memory with only five pairs of cards, that my mom made from two sets of those free greeting cards charities send you). And tonight I taught Junie pirate Candyland (Cartagena set, Candyland rules, using first two and then three board segments, and we might try four next time.) Eeeee! She is pretty solid on turn-taking at this point and did not question the game rules, or at least is still willing to automatically believe me when I tell her How Something Is Done. I haven't introduced the idea of winning and losing; the satisfaction of games right now is just in completing them (and in Mama's focused attention...).
