Oscars

I actually had to go *look up* the Oscar winners this morning, nobody on my friendslist had mentioned them. What's up, flist? Don't you realize your responsibility to tell me about things I can't bother to follow myself? (Note: I am kidding.)

So, for the convenience of the rest of you: a quick summary of the actually interesting Oscar results:

Incredibles did win for Animated. Aviator got Art Direction, Cinematography, and Costume Design, which, I have to admit, makes me more interested in eventually seeing it. I wish I was hip enough to know or care about the Documentaries, but I'm just not. Lemony Snicket got Makeup, Spiderman 2 got Visual Effects, Original Screenplay went to Eternal Sunshine (Sideways got Adapted), and Music went to Finding Neverland, the score of which I cannot recall now at all.

Now, was that so hard? Some comments: there should be an award for best titles/credits, Lemony Snicket's and Prisoner of Azkaban's were both great, and Incredibles was pretty good too. I haven't seen Aviator but I thought the costuming in both Lemony Snicket and Troy was pretty good (yes, Troy! the *costumes*, people, not the writing, yeesh), likewise the cinematography in House of Flying Daggers, so, either this Aviator movie is in fact pretty darn good, or these categories are also as absurd and meaningless as, you know, the *other* categories.
