before I forget

The Future Bible Heroes concert on Sunday was terrific. Lovely mix of good stuff off the two albums, and a few Stephin Merritt solo songs I had never heard before. The first time he sang I thought I was going to swoon over that voice, God. And Claudia Gonson's voice too, wow, and she's so cute bopping her head along to the music, and there was amusing passing of a bucket of popcorn (SM's strategy was just to stick his arms out and beckon wordlessly until someone gave it to him), and no I can't spell their names. And I did not in fact freeze to death while waiting to get in, although my feet were pretty unhappy. I feel like I have a greater appreciation now for some of the songs off, erghle, whatever the new album is called, that hadn't struck me so favorably at first, like, um, the suicide song, and the disco ball song, and the thousand lovers song. Should go listen again...
