so, it works
Oct. 24th, 2002 07:34 pmHave had head up ass biotinylating all day and trying to pick a health plan and primary care person all night. Got results today on first attempt at My Primary Project at work (the biotinylation), and it looks like the technique is working, meaning we can get on with using it for real experiments instead of fiddling with it. So that's good. While sitting, looking at films, took advantage of general positive mood to bring up wanting to leave early next-next Friday to head down to reunion (in addition to three days am taking off next week to go to family wedding). Was a trifle uncomfortable - boss a bit dubious, as in "this better be an unusual month, I do need you in the lab" - but it *is* an unusual month. And I think I'm going to get away with it. So *that*'s good.
Also stopped by to say hi to GS, who works one floor down; interesting experience getting introduced to his postdoc as "a much much younger alum from same college". Was sort of surprised by emphasis on age thing; I don't think I really think of GS and RA as "much much older" friends, just as other local same-college friends...
