blather about drivel
Sep. 15th, 2002 11:32 pmWrote a Boy Meets Boy story.
a) I didn't realize I had anything left to say in that fandom
b) I could be writing Confused!JC or UnusuallyClueful!Ron, but no, I'm writing bad Tybalt/Mik dialogue
Don't mean to complain. Any writing is arguably better than none; maybe it'll encourage me with other stories; I learned a new word ("spadix").
The problem with the JC story is that it's off-track, so I need to back up. And, and, I *hate* having to get rid of stuff that I previously managed to write, and maybe the reason the BMB story was so easy was that I kept completely abandoning my vague concept every ten minutes and letting it go in random directions, but, I count myself lucky that I eventually found a new point and tacked it on. Whereas with the JC story I think it's at a dead end, and I've finally come up with a place it *could* go... if only I had some clue how to get it there.
Really it's that size matters: there's more story in the JC story than there is in that BMB story. I can write a scene and so I can write a two-scene story. The JC story wants *structure*, like, a series of scenes in some kind of order. This is hard.
