insufficient mission definition
Sep. 10th, 2002 04:13 pmThanks to Sofer and Do Things You Don't Want To Do Day, have actually taken care of things at Brandeis. Well... that's half true; when I finally found the relevant paperwork and email about the paycheck/leave thing, it turns out they had told me I'd be going off the training grant at the end of June, so, I think everything was okay with getting that paycheck, so, I didn't actually do anything. But I did go to the bookstore, at which point I was like, what exactly am I hoping to accomplish here (see title), so loitered until near-closing, at which point I talked to one of the assistant managers and determined that a) no one seemed particularly upset that I hadn't been there more and b) they'd be happy to have me work end-of-semester rush (but there isn't much before then... I *think* the regular jobs go to work-study people anyways).
Anyways, so, closure on that front. I think I'm making tomorrow "talk to real live people over the phone about jobs" day, as in, calling people at MIT about the jobs I e-applied for, and hopefully talking to someone at one of Tufts and Harvard as well...
