two questions

I washed my wood dining room floor today for the first time in a long time and was struck by how black the water wasn't. Vinyl floors I've washed in the past have turned the water much blacker for what I think are similar levels of traffic/neglect (although I haven't done a proper experiment here). Is the wood floor staying cleaner day-to-day, or is the vinyl floor getting cleaner when washed? That is, is wood resistant to grime build-up, or is it resistant to grime removal? Any theories?

Secondly: what percentage of the world population 7 feet tall and over plays/ever played basketball at a collegiate or professional level?

Just Basketball specifically? What about volleyball? (Remember the time we were on the plane with the Netherlands Volleyball team, and the shortest guy on the team was 6'10" or something?)
