Turing tester

psocopteraWe already knew that Junie doesn't quite get the difference yet between the videophone (Skype) and the ordinary phone (if asked to say goodbye to someone over the phone, she'll wave). In the course of working on family movies, though, it became apparent that she also doesn't yet understand the difference between the videophone and pre-recorded movies. I think she was a little perplexed as to why Gam wasn't responding to her despite her best overtures. [1] She is more person-like every day [2] but it would seem I can't yet report that I've grown an intelligence that can administer a Turing Test...
[1] She was definitely curious/interested by seeing herself in the videos; impossible to tell what she made of that.
[2] Major recent development: you can ask her questions that don't always have the same answer (like "what book do you want to read?", as opposed to "what does the cow say?", which is more like catechism than conversation) and sometimes she can answer them!
