Another day with all the key NEFFA activities - contra medley (swapping Josh and Chaos in yesterday's partner and Junie-wrangler roles - I'm not quite sure how I managed to be the lucky dancer both times, but go me, it was great, yay to both of them), the eating of cake, English dancing.

However, I found myself thinking about how it used to be better - the ELH concert, Rise Up Singing, twice as many food booths (the Hungarian goulash, the RSCDS Scotch eggs and shortbread, the Turkish spanakopita). So to counteract this, can people who went to NEFFA tell me about any awesome new things they discovered this year? New bands or sessions or something that makes me feel like NEFFA is growing as well as shrinking?

I went to a concert by The Other Georgia, which is a trio of men who sing Georgian folk songs (distinct from Iveria, the Georgian singing group who I've seen at NEFFA in the past, and who are also very good), and they were quite good. Also a roundsing with the Vermont Women's Round Sing, who I don't think I had seen there in the past. And an intermediate cross step waltz workshop, which was nice after last year's basic one.

Huh, that sounds interesting - the Georgian folk song guys I mean. Something to try to remember to check out next year, thanks!
