Not Walt on the sub, but Desmond? Because he has some special ability to do stuff with pockets of electromagnetism, which Team Widmore is interested in? This is interesting.

Also, Smocke can get over to Hydra, but he can't LEAVE-leave without all remaining candidates "signing off" on it by going with him... and he can't just kill some of the remaining candidates to reduce the number of coupons he has to clip to win? At some point I'd really like to hear more about The Rules and where they came from and who has to follow them.

- who are Adam and Eve (the bodies in the cave)?
- what happened to Rose and Bernard and Vincent after the bomb went off?
- why did the psychic tell Claire she had to be on that plane? is there something special about Aaron? does who ends up raising him have any bearing on any of the big conflicts?

- haha. no, seriously, Walt? do his powers have anything to do with Jacob/Smocke? where is he in the new timeline? what made the Others interested in him, and did Ben really let him go because he was too powerful for him to control?
- Libby?
- why did flight attendant Cindy happily join the Others?
- will Sun and Jin ever make it back home to their little girl?
- why didn't Sun go back to 1977 with the rest of the Oceanic 6?
Answered:
- what happened to Claire, anyways, after she vanished on the island? (She's been living much as Rousseau did. Also, she's insane and in cahoots with Smocke.)
- why doesn't Richard Alpert age? who/what is he? (He was on the Black Rock, and he doesn't age because that's just something Jacob can do to people.)

I think we've known all along that Hydra Island and the Main Island are within the border, because people can go back and forth between them without having to do anything weird. I feel like we had some reason to think that Smocke couldn't go to Hydra Island himself, but I don't remember why we thought that, and Lostpedia isn't helpful (in particular, it doesn't say anythin about why Smocke sent Sawyer to do his recon rather than going himself).

And yeah, I assume that the Candidates are protected in the same way that Jacob was, although it's not clear how indirectly Smocke can act against them, e.g. he talked Ben into killing Jacob; could he talk Ben into killing the Candidates too? Could he scare them into running away into the jungle and falling into a pit? I'm not sure there's a good consistent explanation there.

Also also: am all in favor of Sun/Jin sexytimes but that was kind of a lot of her boobs. I mean, they are very pretty, but dude.

Also also also: Claire can talk to Smocke *about* Kate, but she still can't freaking *talk to Kate* because then two women would have a conversation, which would release Smocke from his prison and end the world...

I was also somewhat stunned by Jack. He was almost Jacobian there. Not a good sign for the Hurley Should Be The New Jacob lobby.

I think it makes some sense that Claire can't talk to Kate, in part because what she wants to talk to Smocke about is whether she can kill Kate after they get off the island. :^p Also, Claire is crazy. But also, hmph indeed.
