Runner-up: AlternaBen changing out his father's oxygen tank while they speculate on what their lives would have been like if they had stayed on the island. Brrrr.
Progress progress progress on the questions: Richard on the Black Rock! Also, the long-anticipated reveal by Miles that Nikki and Paolo were buried alive (I'd totally forgotten about the diamonds - lovely tie-in, with him rejecting Ben's offer of money). Sadly no Miles insight into Libby, but they are still on the beach and now Hurley's there too, so if it's ever going to happen, it's going to happen soon.
Not tons of plot advancement here otherwise. Widmore in a sub: well, that's good, got to get everyone on stage together for the finale eventually. Team Smocke is apparently heading for the Hydra, that's sort of interesting. Boy will I laugh if their big plan is just to get rescued with the rest of the Ajira crash survivors somehow. ::grin::
Oh my god was I rooting for the fuse there. I mean, I'd be sad to lose Richard, but he more or less just told us he's useless as a source of answers (dammit) and oh man would it have been worth it to take Jack out.
Questions:
- who are Adam and Eve (the bodies in the cave)?
- what happened to Rose and Bernard and Vincent after the bomb went off?
- why did the psychic tell Claire she had to be on that plane? is there something special about Aaron? does who ends up raising him have any bearing on any of the big conflicts?
- Walt?
- haha. no, seriously, Walt? do his powers have anything to do with Jacob/Smocke? where is he in the new timeline? what made the Others interested in him, and did Ben really let him go because he was too powerful for him to control?
- Libby?
- why did flight attendant Cindy happily join the Others?
- will Sun and Jin ever make it back home to their little girl?
- why didn't Sun go back to 1977 with the rest of the Oceanic 6?

- what happened to Claire, anyways, after she vanished on the island? (She's been living much as Rousseau did. Also, she's insane and in cahoots with Smocke.)
- why doesn't Richard Alpert age? who/what is he? (He was on the Black Rock, and he doesn't age because that's just something Jacob can do to people.)

Date: 2010-03-11 05:06 pm (UTC)It didn't click when we just saw Ben, but when they showed Ben and his father....weren't they both on the island when the bomb went off? The call was made to evacuate people, I guess that means they made it off. Why don't I remember young Ben being returned to his father/dharmaville? But wouldn't he still have been Changed by the healing from the Others? If it wasn't for the shot in the first episode with the underwater island that showed destroyed dharma, and Ben and his father having said they left the island, I'd be starting to think that alteratimeline is in a completely different timeline.
I also really enjoyed Hurley asking Richard about what his is.

which was great, but Miles (as far as we know) only told Ben, and not any of the people who actually buried them alive. huh.

Date: 2010-03-11 08:24 pm (UTC)True, about Miles only telling Ben, but I maybe sort of like that after all; if Jack found out it would be in-character for him to have a whole bunch of angst about it (all about himself and his Doctor Skillz/lack thereof, of course, not actually about poor Nikki and Paolo), which would be a huge waste of time and not relevant to the plot. But it would be odd if he found out and didn't care. So this way, we get to enjoy Miles knowing without it derailing things.
