psocopteraApparently pine nuts can sometimes make everything taste nasty for days. Why do I know this, you - actually, you're smart, you probably don't need to ask.
Well - did you know you should never wash a swimsuit with Woolite? The straps of my swimsuit were gummy which I thought might be from built-up sunscreen residue (I know, ew, sorry) because I rinse my swimsuit but never wash it. So I tried scrubbing them with Woolite because that's the handwash detergent I have, and it made them much worse, they were just exuding white gunk. I think the gumminess was in fact the elastic starting to get old and break down, and apparently the lanolin in Woolite can make elastic deteriorate, so my scrubbing speeded up that process. Also, there is lanolin in Woolite, which might explain why my hands feel so wretched after doing the handwash, and I want to buy new hand laundry soap, anyone have any recommendations? I'd like something good for silk and for hand-dyed stuff that tends to bleed a lot.
Lastly, not a PSA, but a question - I went shopping for a new swimsuit, and there were a bunch of things in the ladies swimwear section that looked sort of like trunks but very very short. But they were sort of loose and floppy like trunks, with elastic in the waistband but not in the legs. This object is new since the last time I bought a swimsuit - is it something you wear over your swimsuit? It seems like you would have to - I am hardly the world's most modest person but even I would hesitate to flash my crotch to the entire swimming pool, which it seemed like they would do if worn as a swimsuit in themselves. Or maybe I'm wrong about how they'd fit - I didn't try any on, as Juniper hates fitting rooms and I was maxing out her patience as it was. Does anyone know what I'm talking about?

I usually just handwash delicates with dish soap (not dishwasher detergent, of course) and have never had trouble.
