I don't read a lot of superhero comics and knew Dave Gibbons exclusively from Watchmen. So it was weird, reading the Superman story he drew for Alan Moore (collected with _Whatever Happened to the Man of Tomorrow?_) to see Dan and Laurie faces on Superman and Wonder Woman. I mean, with someone who has a very obvious style, like Aaron A or something, it doesn't surprise me that things he draws look like his other work. The art in Watchmen is just so much more - what's the word I want, transparent? Not-stylized, or rather, in the mainstream style for the time? - that I hadn't realized anything about it would be recognizable.
