All things considered, I would like my place of residence to be impervious to the elements.

Barring that, maybe it could stop raining long enough for the water to seep back down through the floor? Or at least long enough for us to open the windows and air out that soaked-carpet smell?

I've read about this in Hannah's livejournal too and I'm surprised--not having your residence leak is kinda one of those basic standard of living things, and I'm pretty sure that your landlord is bound by law to fix the leaking. Why is your landlord being so awful, if you don't mind my asking?

I don't think they're really being awful about it - they sent out carpet cleaners today, so now the smell is a weird mix of musty and rug shampoo, but it's probably less likely to mold now which seems good. It's not clear that there's a whole lot else they can do though, although some sort of repairs to the actual leak would be nice if they could find it.
