Invisible Kingdom vol 1, Walking the Path. G Willow Wilson, Christian Ward. Prereq reading for when I eventually get to the Graphic Novels. I feel like there are cool concepts here... kind of doing a Firefly thing... but, augh, the pacing. There just wasn't any space or time for me to care about anybody! One second the protag is becoming a nun, the next second she's deciding they're corrupt, because they're anti-consumerism but they're funded by Space Amazon. Are *we* supposed to care? I *think* by the end I had figured out who all the secondary spaceship crew characters were; I still feel confused about the scale of the floating monastery. Maybe I just need to preface all of my comics reviews with "I like the pacing of manga-influenced graphic novels and not 24-page-an-issue superhero comics". Let the story breathe! Give us some character moments that have nothing directly to do with the plot!
