Jan. 17th, 2003 05:11 pmUnexpected NSync sighting of the week: A Joey bobblehead on someone's lab desk wearing little lab goggles (cut out of a film) and holding a sign reading something like "Joey Fatone of INSYNC says "always where your safety goggles""; also holding the leash of a small plastic reindeer. Owner explained he had gotten unlucky, or lucky, depending on your point of view, in a Yankee Swap.
The lab move has gone surprisingly well, by which I mean I've had to do surprisingly little move work so far. Although there'll be a lot to do next week setting up the new lab. I've finally been in the new building, though, and am actually in it right now... it's *shiny*. Although there were the inevitable planning screwups, such that none of the centrifuges and -80s can be plugged in in their intended places, and for some unknown reason there is a large window, with a lovely city view, in the darkroom. Ack, I would say, that's going to be an ugly foil job, except that we don't seem to have gotten a developer either so I'll be going back to the old building to do all my films for awhile anyways. And I expect we'll still be saying "do you know what happened to the thingy" for weeks.
Have even instigated some weekend plans...now if only I can convince everyone that in addition to the aquarium they need to see an IMAX 3D fish movie. It's supposed to have a squid mating frenzy; how, I ask, can anyone resist a six-story 3D squid mating frenzy?
