Okay, this is an X-Men story by author thedeadparrot, structured as a unix home directory thingy which you are exploring. I would be curious to know how this story "reads" to real unix geeks. Ghost in the Shell. I am fascinated by this sort of format experiment.

It's cute --- i have to admit that poking around directories at random looking for useful files is not one of the parts of my job i enjoy the most, so i didn't find it all that much fun to read. (I also don't read in X-Men, and wasn't particularly into the writing, though.)

I was curious about the shell --- apparently it's a terminal emulator written in javascript, the author took a jQuery-based terminal emulator plugin and added her own stuff to it. It's cute, but it seems like you have to do a fair amount of heavy lifting to make it look good for consistency-minded values of "good" (e.g. she didn't think about people using .. to go above the home directory, so when you cd /, it gives you a message she wrote about denied access, but when you cd .., it gives a "no such file" error). Anyway, interesting. Thanks for linking.
