Avatar: Legend of Korra episode 3

psocopteraI don't know, meh. I'd be willing to tolerate a certain amount of not-so-great on a variety of fronts *if* I was being delivered *something* to really love. With ATLA, there was just so much cool stuff about the exploration of the whole idea of bending, that you could do *this* with bending, you could do *that* with bending. There were also amazing bending battles and the different ways they could be choreographed. And then I really liked and cared about the characters, and there were all the funny animal hybrids, and Toph getting great lines, and a really gripping overarching plot arc.
With Korra, this season especially, there just isn't anything making me excited about this show. I like Korra, but I don't find her interactions with her parents all that interesting and her relationship with Mako is just painful. Tenzin's interactions with his siblings make me cringe in the way that He-Man does, now, this thing where people who look like grownups are acting like children for a child audience. I am interested in where they're going with the plot arc. But I just need a little more fun along the way, more jazzy music, more Asami screentime, *something*. I guess an exploration of Aang's failures as a parent is interesting, but it's not really *enjoyable*, I am watching this show to be made happy, not to be made sad.
