While I'm at it, Little Women! My mom had a hard time with the nonlinear storytelling but I loved it. I imagine Gerwig rolling up her sleeves like, "okay, I'm going to convince *someone* to ship the damn canon pairings" and taking her absolute best shot, and the fact that for one of them that meant (spoiler) ( Read more... )

was great. The nonlinearity gave it so much structure and poignancy (around Beth, around Laurie, just generally), what a great adaptation.
