Yuletide 2014 recs post 8

permanence, about the god Eugenides mourning the mortal Eugenides.
nothing without pretend. Gen having a moment with Attolia.
Rooftop Sneaking. Gen having a different kind of moment with Eddis.
The Two Queens. A scholarly work about Attolia and Eddis. I love metafic like this.
Charioteer. 13K of Gen having an adventure with Costis - Josh, this is the one that kept making me laugh out loud Thursday night. Maybe imagine the second half of Vor Game if Gregor is Miles and Miles is Ivan, only... man, just read it.
if you'll be my bodyguard. Another long (14K) story with an OT3 and an outsider POV and some lovely character moments.
Imperial Radch. There were ten of these stories this year, plus 11 drabbles in Yuletide Madness. Honestly they're all pretty good - not to be too snobbish about it, but it seems possible that people who want to write Ancillary Justice fanfic are kind of self-selecting for being on my wavelength writing-wise. However I feel like I should pick out a few for my loyal readers who might want to read a story or two but not twenty. So... maybe you want a short scene between Awn and Skaaiat? Or an even shorter moment between Breq, Kalr Five, and Mercy of Kalr? Or maybe you want to go the other way, ten thousand words of Seivarden trying to adjust to life with Breq? Or four thousand words of post-Ancillary Sword Mercy of Kalr-POV checking in with various characters? Maybe Tisarwat coping, or this one, about Breq and music and grieving, or this awesome story about cultural differences and the hand taboo, or, to bring it full circle, a story about Awn, with Skaaiat and Basnaaid's poetry?
A little more Wimsey from Madness, this brilliant Strong Poison AU: Take Your Chances.
And If The Cap Fits, Peter angst over Harriet. Oh, Peter.

The Pirate Bachelorette. And this one is about Inigo if he was Ines, as the Dread Pirate Roberts.
