I mean, ugh, no wonder he had doubts about my interest in science... ::smacks forehead repeatedly:: Aside from it being the easy best way to demonstrate interest (and scientific cluefulness, in the resulting conversation), I would guess this guy has done genuinely interesting work. Such that the conversation, itself, could have been worthwhile.
Thank god he was never actually considering me for a job, then I would really have to smack myself. As it is, I'm just going to go chant "learning experience" until I feel better...
