Wildlife adventures
Jun. 24th, 2002 03:46 pmThere is a thing in my apartment. Like a bug, only with too many legs. It went under my couch and I can't find it, even after moving the couch.
I feel like a total dork for being as icked by it as I am. I mean, I like insects and creepy-crawlies of many sorts. But, you know how to know a thing's true name is to have power over it? I like bugs that I can identify. This thing, I did not recognize, and it moved very quickly, so all I ever got was the impression of Many Legs. And while I know quite a bit about insects, I know jack-all about centipedes, so the facts that it's all of an inch long and clearly wants to avoid a) light and b) me are not so comforting as they might be, because what if it bites or something? I just have no idea, and it's that lack of clue which is so unnerving.
On the plus side, I'm now feeling this newfound incentive to clean my apartment really thoroughly, which it really needs
