Okay, you get bonus points for using the words "undershorts" and "nick" instead of their American counterparts. You detail-oriented person, you! And it's still really funny. And I'm still not done. People keep interrupting me. I have talky friends. :^)

Thanks! Am flattered to be called "detail oriented" ::grin::. I think the British slang does help them sound more in character. Although I've worked a bit on a sequel to Purity Test where Ron is describing the state of undress of a group of boys (er... I swear this will make sense in context ::grin::) and I want him to say they're all "down to their pants", meaning underpants, but I'm worried it sounds like they've taken their shirts off but not their trousers. Okay, why do I seem to mostly think about slang in the context of clothes? 'Cause the other example I can think of is in Matchbox when Draco is talking about his vest and I remembered to change it to waistcoat, because, no, he *doesn't* color-coordinate his undershirts, he's not *that* picky. But, like, there's lots of other British/American differences... I guess it's just that people are always taking their clothes off in my stories, whereas nobody ever goes to the chemist's or pushes prams or anything ::grin::.

Yeah, "down to their pants" does make me automatically picture trousers, unless I'm reminding myself about British slang. Hrm. And knickers just refers to women's underwear, right?
