The Order of the Pure Moon Reflected in Water

The Order of the Pure Moon Reflected in Water, Zen Cho. I am pretty much always delighted by Zen Cho and this novella was no exception. Bandits, nuns, great dialogue, martial arts action - this may be wuxia or xanxia, although I don't feel at all sure enough of my grasp of either as a genre to apply it correctly as a label. Also queer, on various gender and relationship fronts (being deliberately vague to avoid spoilers, but thumbs up). Definitely recommended.

I saw the author describe it as not so much wuxia but rather fanfic of a wuxia TV show that doesn't exist, and laughing that her dad was so excited that she finally wrote something in a genre he likes to read, but that's not really what it is. I haven't read it yet but I also am always delighted by Zen Cho and am looking forward to it!
