my 2015 Hugo nominations - dramatic, long

Aka "movies". By the way, sorry to anybody feeling drowned in Hugo posts - the good thing is I'll run out of categories eventually ::grin::.

I definitely want to nominate How To Train Your Dragon 2, The Book of Life, and Big Hero 6. Guardians of the Galaxy and X-Men: Days of Future Past were both fine, enjoyable movies but neither made me say "oh, yeah, that should get a Hugo". But I think I will nominate Captain America: The Winter Soldier. Oh, hey, I could nominate the Lego movie! Sure, why not. Apparently I have been wholesale convinced that animated movies can and often are the best SFF of the year ::grin::.

Next week is vacation, so it doesn't matter how much it snows, kids weren't going to school anyways!

At least I assume we're talking about snow here and not, like, insanity from reading too much short fiction at once ::grin::.

I keep telling myself that this is going to be the hardest winter, by next year Q will be more interested/able to engage in tabletop activities like board games and craft projects (and maybe even more able to keep himself from constantly hitting or tackling Junie). I just have to get through this winter, and someday the kids will go to school on a Monday again. Someday.

I don't feel drowned exactly... it's more that I have a file where I save lists of stuff to read for later and it's now very very full. (Since there's a lot of other stuff in the file too I'm actually only halfway through your lists from last year, oops). A good kind of drowned maybe.

Heh. Sorry. We're at about a month out from Hugo nominations closing so I'm trying to get my picks out there so that other nominators have time to read and consider stuff I'm suggesting. If you're not playing the Hugo game the massive recs dump must seem pretty random indeed ::grin::. (I like making personalized recs so if you ever feel like telling me some things I've recced that you've particularly liked, I'll point you towards some of my recs that I think you will also like.)
